It is our pleasure to invite you to attend the 26th Annual Meeting of our network, taking place in Slovenia from 3rd to 6th April 2025. 

Contrasting the growing politics of divisions, conflicts and violence, the question we propose to deliberate is CULTURE and CULTURAL COOPERATION: TOOLS for PEACE? 

WHAT to EXPECT:

The program features insights into cultural practices in three urban settings in Slovenia, meetings with cultural operators and artists, participation in interventions, discussions and presentations of cultural projects and initiatives resonating with the topic, with the emphasis on those carried out by the ORACLE members. 

Please feel invited to promote your projects linked to combating warfare politics at all levels.

Also, this year we have elections for the ORACLE Board. All members are invited to consider a candidacy for joining the Board. More details on how to file it will follow. 

The SITES: 

We will be based in the town of Kamnik, and visit the Slovenian capital Ljubljana and the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica. Our hosts will be Goran Završnik, Oracle member and Cultural Coordinator of Kamnik JZKK ; Blaž Peršin, Oracle member and Director of Ljubljana Museums and Galleries MGML ; and Marko Bratuš, Program Director of the Slovenian National Theatre Nova Gorica SNG Nova Gorica,  in Kamnik, Ljubljana and Gorica respectively. 

In Kamnik, we will be accommodated at the wellness centre Eco Thermal Spa Snovik. Meals introducing local cuisines will be organised in different places along our route. To dive in urban and underground culture of Slovenia, we’ll spend our social time in local pubs. 

REGISTRATION and FEES: 

To register for the 2025 ORACLE meeting, please fill in the Registration form. 

The registration fee of € 150 * covers all meals, transfers within Slovenia (including shuttles from/to the Ljubljana airport and train station) and welcome drinks in restaurants and local pubs. 

The fee should preferably be paid to the ORACLE bank account ** before arrival, or in cash on the spot. 

* The members who come from low-income countries, or otherwise face a financial challenge to attend the meeting, can apply for a reduction of the fee, by justifying their request. The decision on the reduction is at the discretion of the Board.

ACCOMMODATION: 

We have a special price for accommodation with breakfast, at the Thermal Spa Snovik. Therefore, the reservations must go through the ORACLE, while payments should be made by the members, at the hotel.

We can opt for a single room at the special price of € 50 per night, or a double room, for € 60 per night, per room. If you wish to share the room, please note it in the Registration form. 

Of course, staying at the Spa Snovik is not mandatory. Members can book different accommodations at their own convenience. 

HOW to GET there:

To travel by air, you can use Ljubljana Airport  *, with direct flights from Amsterdam, Athens, Belgrade, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Istanbul, London, Luxemburg, Munich, Niš, Paris, Podgorica, Pristina, Riga, Skopje, Tel Aviv, Tiva, Warsaw, Zurich, Dubai. 

* Shuttle Ljubljana Airport – Kamnik will be arranged by the local team.
Please note: Klagenfurt, Trieste, Treviso, Marco Polo (Venice), Pleso (Zagreb) and some other airports are also relatively close by, but we cannot provide transfers from those destinations.

By train,** you get there via Zagreb (CRO), or Vienna (AT) – Graz (AT) – Maribor (SI) – Ljubljana (SI) or via Salzburg (AT) – Villach (AT) - Ljubljana (SI).

** Shuttle Ljubljana Train Station – Kamnik will be arranged by the local team. 

By road (car, intercity shuttles, bus), you can travel through Ljubljana, or Vienna (AT) - Graz (AT) - Maribor (SI) - Kamnik (SI), or Salzburg (AT) - Villach (AT) - Karavanke tunnel (AT/SI) - Jesenice (SI) - Vodice (SI) - Kamnik (SI).
